The Junior League of Springfield is delighted to announce Nila Hayes as its 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient!

Nila joined the Junior League of Springfield in 1993 and has served JLS in a variety of leadership roles, a few highlights which include Treasurer, Vice President of Finance, Charity Ball committee, Nominating committee and Sustainer Mentor. She currently serves as the Sustainer Mentor to the JLS Treasurer and as a member of the Financial Oversight committee. She will continue her dedication and service to JLS next year as the Sustainer at Large on the JLS Board of Directors. In addition to her JLS leadership roles, Nila has contributed her time and talents to Soroptomist International of Springfield and the History Museum of Springfield.

Professionally, Nila was a distinguished leader at Missouri State University for many decades, culminating in her role as Chief Financial Officer. While at MSU, Nila played a pivotal role in shaping MSU’s fiscal strategy and oversaw significant transformation. Nila’s exemplary service enhanced the University’s stature within the education community.

Never seeking accolades, Nila has consistently given her all to help strengthen the organizations she has served.

Personally, Nila enjoys spending time with her husband, Everett, boating on table rock late, reading and traveling.

Nila’s contributions to JLS and to the Springfield community are immeasurable. She is a most worthy and deserving recipient of the highest honor given by JLS.
