A Day of Celebration and Community Engagement

Located in Glenstone Square, the site of JLS’s original office in 1977, this event not only celebrates a new chapter for JLS but also honors its rich history and legacy. Returning to this familiar location marks a significant milestone in our mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

The new headquarters will house both the JLS administrative office and The Plaid Door Resale Boutique, a non-profit clothing boutique operated exclusively by JLS volunteers.

Since 1959, JLS has been dedicated to promoting volunteerism and enhancing our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The new headquarters will enable JLS to continue this legacy, providing a space where volunteers can come together, collaborate, and drive positive change.

About The Plaid Door: A Boutique with a Mission

Operated exclusively by JLS volunteers, the Plaid Door offers a wide range of clothing and accessories at affordable prices. Every purchase made at the Plaid Door supports the mission of JLS.

A Legacy of Leadership and Volunteerism

The new headquarters will serve as a hub for these activities, offering a space where volunteers can gather, plan, and execute initiatives that make a real difference. It will also provide a venue for training and development, ensuring that JLS volunteers are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to lead effectively.
